Renfrew Timberwolves Jr. B Announce 2025–26 Coaching Staff

Renfrew, ON – June 1, 2025 — The Renfrew Timberwolves Jr. B Hockey Club is proud to announce the appointment of Bryan Baird as Head Coach and Will Watson as Associate Coach for the 2025–2026 season.

With an impressive 35-year coaching career, Bryan Baird brings a wealth of experience in player development and team leadership.

“Having been involved in coaching and player development for 35 years, I’m excited to join the Timberwolves organization,” said Baird. “This long-standing hockey program is committed to developing young athletes who work toward common goals and achieve success through hard work and dedication, both as players and as people.”

Baird began his coaching journey as an associate coach in minor hockey and has been deeply involved in high school hockey throughout Renfrew County since 1999. He has led teams to the prestigious Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) tournament on three occasions and has maintained a consistent focus on core skill development and the pursuit of excellence.

“This season, our focus will be on building a team that plays with intensity, speed, and responsibility,” added Baird. “With a strong core of returning veterans and an exciting group of young prospects, the Timberwolves are poised to be a team to watch this year.”

Joining Baird behind the bench is Associate Coach Will Watson, who brings 22 years of coaching experience at various levels across Canada and the United States.

“I grew up playing minor hockey in Madoc and Belleville, and my career has taken me around the globe,” said Watson. “I’ve coached in the GTHL, USA Hockey, OWHA, OMHA, and now with HEO since settling in the Upper Ottawa Valley.”

Watson most recently led the U18AA Aces to an HEO playoff championship in 2024–25. His coaching philosophy emphasizes the values of Respect, Accountability, and Effort. “I’m excited to join the Renfrew Timberwolves organization and be a key driver for these young men’s success. My goal is to instill a mindset of being hard to play against.”

Brent Gould, General Manager of the Renfrew Timberwolves and President of the Renfrew Wolves Hockey Organization, shared his enthusiasm about the upcoming season,  “I am excited for the season ahead with the new coaching staff. Bryan and Will will be able to continue the development of the Jr. B Timberwolves program. I’m looking forward to our prospects camp and the new season kicking off in September.”

Owners Jim and Natalie Seyers added, “We’re incredibly proud of the depth and skill within our program and are excited about the continued progression of the Timberwolves organization. The leadership that Bryan and Will bring to the bench will help us further our mission of developing top-level talent and preparing our athletes for the next stage in their hockey careers. The future is bright in Renfrew.”
